Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Mary Ann/Marion McGhee was born about 1856, possibly the Mary McGhee who emigrated to Otago in 1875 on the Invercargill.
She married Archibald Paul Hart, a nurseryman, in 1882 and they had three children.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Clyde St, Dunedin.
In 1902, while living in Castle St, Mary gave evidence in court when their neighbours were involved in a divorce case.
Mary died on 22 August 1917 and Archibald died in 1932. They are both buried in the Southern Cemetery.
