Mary Jane Teasdale was born about 1859 in England. In 1881 she married Josiah Carpenter. They had two children and lived in Brunswick St, Caversham until about 1901 when they moved to Chester St, Sydenham, Christchurch.
Mary died on 26 August 1922 and Josiah in 1935. They are buried together in the Sydenham Cemetery.
