Mary Ann Stott was born in New Zealand in 1870 – the daughter of Peter Stott and Mary Booth.
Mary married John Mattingly, a quarry labourer, in 1891. They had nine children and lived in Caversham in Dunedin.
Mary Ann died on 15 February 1934 and John died in 1950. They are buried in a family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
