Mary Maitland Corston was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Corston, a sawyer, and Mary Maitland Dunn.
She married Malcolm Phillips, a moulder, at her home in Milton on 28 April 1892.
They had three children and, about 1910, the family moved to Hobsonville.
Malcolm died at their home in 1922 and Mary died on 9 August 1949, they are buried together in the Hobsonville Cemetery.
