Mary Jane Reid was born in the Tokomairiro district in 1868 – the daughter of John Reid, a coal miner, and Sarah Sloan. (80 Sarah Reid)
When she signed the suffrage petition Mary was living with her family at Fairfax, near Milton.
After her mother’s death in 1915 Mary’s life is unclear.
