Alice Masters was born in 1868 in Northumberland, England – the daughter of Richard Littlejohn Masters, a coal miner, and Ann Fulford. (See 246 A Shellard)
She emigrated to Marlborough with her family in 1876 on the Camperdown and they settled in Grey Valley.
Alice signed the suffrage petition in Greymouth.
She married Arthur Thomas Boddy, a moulder, on 10 August 1898 and they had five daughters.
Arthur died in 1945 and Alice died on 10 July 1955 – they are buried together in the Karoro Cemetery.
