Matilda Harriet Hall was born in 1869 in Kent, England – the daughter of Richard Hall, a piledriver and brickmaker, and Sarah Swinerd. (See 143 Sarah Hall)
She emigrated to Canterbury in 1874 on the Atrato with her family and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family at Hoopers Inlet near Sandymount on the Otago Peninsula.
Matilda married Lamond Dow Robertson, a farmer, on 2 December 1903 at her parent’s home and they had one daughter.
Lamond died in 1920 and Matilda died on 18 June 1960, aged 91, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
