Maud M Davies was born Maud Maria Bradley, on 28 March 1870 at West Eyreton, the eldest daughter of William Bradley and Rebecca Matilda nee Doggett. She had nine younger siblings.
Her father died in 1892.
She married Joseph Davis (not Davies) on 14 February 1891. They had eight children and were living at Lobun near Ashley where Joseph was a sheep farmer.
Sadly Joseph died on 21 January 1921 after falling off his horse when it hit a gate after the dark. He had been was going up to the back country for sheep. He was buried on 23 January at the Methodist Cemetry East Belt Rangiora
Maud continued to live at Ashley with her children but later moved to Rangiora where she died on 31 October 1941 and her will passed probate in December 1941.
Others of her extended family who also signed the Petition were her mother Rebecca Bradley (262) and her three sisters. All were grandchildren or their daughters from John Ivory and Sarah nee Emms of Norfolk.
Her three aunts Maria Keir (sheet 241), Hannah Little (318), L Harman (237) and her own sister Lucy Emily Bradley (262).
Also Margaret Jennings (nee Stapleforth) sheet 241, both she and her husband’s mothers were Ivory family descendants. Cousin by marriage – Helen Ivory (nee Bartrum) Sheet 240.
