Adelaide Jane Heal Henderson was born in 1873 in Suffolk, England – the only child of Henry Madden Henderson, a joiner, and Maria Jane Butcher. (See 28 M J Henderson)
She emigrated to Otago with her family in 1874 on the Jessie Readman and they settled in Dunedin.
When Adelaide signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Macandrew Road.
She married Peter Mason, a bootmaker, on 9 November 1900 in Dunedin and they had two children.
They lived briefly in Christchurch before moving to Balclutha in South Otago.
Peter died in Balclutha in January 1951 and shortly after Adelaide died in Christchurch on 23 May 1951.
They are both buried in the Balclutha Cemetery.
