Catherine Ferguson was born on 30 May 1860 in Fifeshire, Scotland – the daughter of Robert Ferguson, a sawyer, and Christina Lyell.
Catherine emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1880s with her widowed father and siblings.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her sister Margaret (See 62 Miss Ferguson) in Cameron St, South Dunedin.
She did not marry and she died on 1 December 1945, she is buried with her father and sister in the Southern Cemetery.
