Maud Mary Fox was born in 1872 in the Invercargill – the daughter of William Graham Fox, a police constable, and Letitia Smith Wightman (See 354 Mrs William Graham Fox).

When Maud signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Earne St, Invercargill.

She married James English, a clerk, in 1922 – they do not appear to have had any children & they lived in Wellington.

James died in 1926, he is buried in the Karori Cemetery.

Maud died on 29 June 1955, she was cremated at the Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland.
