Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.
Mary Rowe was born about 1844, possibly in England and she arrived in New Zealand in the mid 1870’s.
She had five children with Daniel Bagley although they do not appear to have married and the children were registered as Rowe.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition they were living in Argyle St, South Dunedin.
Daniel died in 1901 when he was working a crane at the railway and was struck on the head by some metal plates.
Mary died at Dunedin Hospital on 15 July 1924 – she is buried with Daniel in the Southern Cemetery.
