Amelia was born about 1833.

When she married August Bremer, a labourer from Germany, on January 28th 1870 in the Waikouaiti parish, Amelia was a widow. Her prior married name was Amelia Watt.

Amelia and August lived in Palmerston where they adopted as son in the 1870s before August died in 1881.

Amelia was still living in Palmerston when she signed the suffrage petition.

She died at Greenhills, Southland on June 19th 1908, and is buried with August in the Palmerston Cemetery.
