Jeanie Welding was born about 1840 in Scotland.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her husband Charles in Waikouaiti, north of Dunedin.
She died on November 4th 1896 and is buried in the Waikouaiti Cemetery.
In 1901 Charles was the subject of a presentation held in the Oddfellows Hall prior to “leaving the colony with the intention of settling with a relative in Indiana, U.S.A.”
