Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Mary Ann Wright was married to Jeremiah Callaghan/O’Callaghan, a labourer, in 1886 and they had seven children, two who died in infancy.

When Mary signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cumberland St, Dunedin.

Jeremiah died in 1911, he is buried in the Northern Cemetery with their two young children.

Mary Ann may have re-married as a Mary Ann of a similar age married William Winchester in 1915 but this is uncertain.
