Mary/May O’Mullane was born 1845 about in Ireland. She came to New Zealand about 1862 and married George Hyde Campbell, a china and glass importer, in 1864.
They had five children and lived, at first, in High St, then Rattray St before settling in Heriot Row, Dunedin.
George was declared bankrupt in 1875 after a downturn in business due to the end of the gold rush.
George died in 1894 and Mary died on 26 June 1937, they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
