Catherine Harper was born about 1858 – she married David Allan Graham, a gas engineer, in 1884 and they had two daughters.

David died at their home 'Oaklands' in Andersons Bay, Dunedin in 1893 and this is where Catherine signed the suffrage petition.

Catherine died at her daughter’s home in South Canterbury on 19 November 1940, she is buried with David in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
