Bridget Catherine Fitzgerald was born about 1847 in Limerick, Ireland.
She emigrated to New Zealand and she married Arcibald Delargey in 1873.
They had 10 children, three who died in infancy - the family lived at first in Invercargill before moving to Otautau where they ran the Commercial Hotel.
In 1892 the family moved to Waikaia where they opened a hotel, also called the Commercial and where Bridget signed the suffrage petition.
Archibald died in 1909 and Bridget then moved to Dunedin where she died on 26 August 1925.
They are buried together in the Waikaia Cemetery.
