Christina Easton was born on 14 January 1864 in Lanarkshire, Scotland – the daughter of Nisbet Easton, a coal miner, and Isabella Campbell. (See 101 Isabella Easton)
She emigrated to Otago in 1882 on the Timaru with her family and they settled at Fairfield, near Dunedin.
Christina married Edwin Charles Hocking, a gardener, in 1892. He also signed the petition. (See 122 Mr Hocking)
When she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Argyle St, Mornington in Dunedin.
They had no children – Christina died at Fairfield on 13 April 1898, she is buried in the Green Island Cemetery.
Edwin re-married in 1901 – he died in 1937 and is buried in the Southern Cemetery.
