Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Eleanor Griffiths Evans was born about 1853.

When she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Greymouth with William James Gulliver, a railway carpenter.

They married in 1894 and, in 1897, William received a promotion and they moved to Whanganui.

Eleanor died there on 20 May 1903 – she is buried in the Heads Road Cemetery.

William moved to New South Wales a few years later – he died in 1927 and is buried in the Rookwood Cemetery.
