Biographical information provided by Katrina Tamaira for the He Tohu exhibition:

Emily Eliza Amos, later Mrs Emily Row, migrated to New Zealand as an assisted passenger in July 1874. Aged just seven years old, she arrived with her parents, Edward Walter and Eliza, at Canterbury aboard the Hereford. In 1887 at the age of 21, Emily married Frederick Ley Row. Emily built a life in Christchurch, where she is now buried. She died on 20 July, 1937, at 70 years old, survived by two daughters and one son.
