Frances Jane Dent Prince was born about 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of Edward Prince, a farmer, and Hannah Smith.
She married Frank Jacobs, an engineer, in 1889 and they had two daughters.
When Frances signed the suffrage petition the family were living in North Beach, Greymouth.
Frances died on 15 September 1924 – she is buried in the Karoro Cemetery.
Frank remarried in 1928 – he died in 1951.
