Josephine Evangeline Wilson was born in 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of Robert Wilson & Jane Ann Elliott.
She married Francis Joseph Scanlan, a bootmaker, on November 11th 1889 in Dunedin & they had 5 children.
When Josephine signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Grange St, Dunedin.
A few years later they moved to Stratford in the North Island, then to Wanganui.
Francis died there in 1912, he is buried in the Heads Road Old Public Cemetery, Wanganui.
Josephine later moved to Cambridge. She died on April 1st 1955 & she is buried in the Leamington Cemetery near Cambridge.
