Elizabeth Webster was born about 1850 in Scotland.
She married Andrew Findlay, a bootmaker, on 23 February 1872 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The couple emigrated soon after their marriage and had seven children in New Zealand.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Grosvenor St, Kensington, Dunedin.
They moved to Christchurch in the 1900s – Andrew died in Linwood, Christchurch in 1917 and Elizabeth died on 5 January 1924.
They are buried together in the Linwood Cemetery.
