Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Euphemia/Phemy Clark was born in 1863 in New Zealand – the daughter of Henry Clark, a carpenter and farmer, and Christina Heron. (See 92 Christina Clark)

She married James Forrest, a carpenter, on 26 January 1888 at Knox Church, Dunedin.

After their marriage they spent a couple of years in Melbourne – when Euphemia signed the suffrage petition they were living in Hyde St, Dunedin.

She died at her home on 28 April 1905 and is buried in the family grave in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.

After his retirement James returned to his home country of Scotland in 1926 – he died there in 1937.
