Mary Pike was born about 1857 in Ireland.
She came to New Zealand where she married William Arthur Fox, a bootmaker, on 12 December 1883 in Dunedin.
They had seven children and when Mary signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Maori Hill.
Mary died on 30 October 1935 and William died the following year – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
