Eliza/Elizabeth Taylor was born about 1843 in Ireland. 

She arrived in New Zealand in the early 1860s and she married, shepherd, George Freeman in October 1866 in Dunedin. 

They had nine children and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Great King Street, Dunedin.  

Elizabeth died on 16 August 1914 and George died in 1918. They are buried with four of their daughters in the Northern Cemetery.
