Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Christina Taylor was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Taylor and Mary.

She married George Edmund Bennett in, a wharf labourer, in 1891.

They do not appear to have had any children and, when Christina signed the suffrage petition, they were living in Howe St, Dunedin.

In the 1910s they moved to North East Valley, Dunedin where George became a storekeeper.

He died at their home in Maori Hill in 1923 and Christina died on 1 November 1930. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
