Isabella Gow was born about 1835 in Perthshire, Scotland.

She emigrated to New Zealand, and married Alexander Gilmour on June 3rd 1862 in Dunedin.

They had at least two children before Alexander died in 1885.

When Isabella signed the suffrage petition she was living in Duncan St, Dunedin.

She died at her home on October 27th 1902, and is buried with Alexander and their daughter in the Southern Cemetery.
