Agnes Wilson was born about 1839, she married William Goodlet, a labourer, in 1863.

They had two children and when Agnes signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Grange St, Dunedin.

In 1895 William, who had been working in the mining area of Waipori, drowned while crossing a creek.

Agnes married again in 1898 to William Shields and went to live at Menzies Ferry near Wyndham in South Otago.

She died on 21 August 1906 and William died in 1914, they are buried together in the Wyndham Cemetery.
