Helen Weatherston was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of David Weatherston, a labourer, and Catherine Hall.
She married Charles Cranfield Grant, a maltster, on 30 August 1888 at Caversham, Dunedin.
They had eight children, their first children, twins George and Charles, died in infancy.
When Helen signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cargill Rd, South Dunedin.
Charles died in 1934, he is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
Helen died on 19 August 1955 at Lower Hutt, she is buried in the Taita Cemetery, Lower Hutt.
