Margaret Gordon was born about 1857.

She married Andrew Henderson, a boiler maker, on 23 Octobe 1874 in Dunedin.

They had 12 children, one who died in infancy, and when Margaret signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Opoho, Dunedin.

Margaret died in the Dunedin Hospital in 1910, she is buried in the Northern Cemetery.

Andrew later went to Victoria, Australia where he died in 1934.
