Margaret Davidson was born in 1861 in New Zealand. The daughter of Walter Davidson and Mary Jane Malcolm.

She married farmer John Campbell on January 14th 1891 at Pine Hill near Dunedin. They had nine children, one who died in infancy.

When Margaret signed the suffrage petition they were living at Pine Park Farm at Pine Hill.

In 1901 they disposed of the farm and took over the management of the Otago Steam Laundry in North East Valley.

In 1911 the family moved to Woodlands in Southland to once again run a farm.

They returned to the Steam Laundry after a few years. When Margaret died on April 11th 1922 they were living in Main Rd, North East Valley.

Sometime after Margaret’s death John moved to the Gisborne district where their sons were farming.

He died in Auckland in 1930. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery, Dunedin.
