She married James Manson, a blacksmith, in 1878 and they had a daughter before they emigrated to Otago in 1879 on the Auckland.

Their daughter died on the voyage and was buried at sea.

They settled in Dunedin where they had a further five children and when Christina signed the suffrage petition they were living in Sunnydale, North East Valley.

James died in 1904 and Christina died on 18 April 1911 – they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
