Jane McCorkindale was born on 22 April 1855 in Neilston, Renfrewshire, Scotland – the daughter of Daniel McCorkinale, a mason, and Agnes Finlay.
Jane’s family emigrated to Otago arriving in 1861 on the Lady Egidia. She married James Mollison, a draper, on 14 September 1877 and they had 3 children.
James died in Dunedin in 1903 and Jane then moved to Christchurch. She died there on 7 November 1923. They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
