Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Anne Scott Aitken was born in Dunedin in 1862 – the daughter of Alexander Aitken, a blacksmith, and Elizabeth Harvey. (See 59 Mrs Aitken)

She married Joseph Outram, an engineer, in 1882 and they had five children.

When Anne signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Laing St, Caversham.

Joseph died in 1920 at their home in Burkes, near Dunedin, and Anne died on 25 May 1951.

They are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
