Isabella Denholm Waugh was born in 1862 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Walker Waugh, a contractor, and Elizabeth Denholm.
She married John Russell, a printer, in 1886 – they had 3 children.
When Isabella signed the suffrage petition the family were living in George St, Dunedin.
Their son John died in 1915 while fighting in Gallipoli.
John died in 1936 and Isabella died on 11 July 1937. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
