I have a number of ancestors who signed the petition and Mrs L C Gooch is one. She was born Annie Cooper Hislop 12 Oct 1861 in Dunedin to Mungo Hislop and Jessie Ferguson. She married Louis Charles Gooch 22 Dec 1884 in Knox Church Dunedin. Louis was born in London 6 May 1860 to Horatio Gooch and Maria Shortt. Annie had 2 daughters and 2 sons. She died 31 Mar 1945 Green Island, Dunedin. Her husband died in 1929.
