Mrs L Matthewson

I believe this is Mary Matthewson, wife of John Matthewson (Mrs J Matthewson not L). The couple lived at 28 Leith Street, Dunedin. Mary was born in 1841 in Halkirk, Scotland, the daughter of Henry Henderson & Catherine McKay. In 1862 she emigrated to Dunedin on the "Lady Egedia" and in May 1867 married John Matthewson, The couple had 10 children. Mary died in 1909 and is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Dunedin, alongside her husband and other family members. Mary was my great-grandmother.
