Jane Campbell was born about 1848 in County Tyrone, Ireland – the daughter of William Campbell.
She married John Lindsay on 24 January 1870 in Omagh and they had three children before the family emigrated to Otago in 1878 on the Timaru.
They settled in Dunedin and had a further five children – four of their children predeceased their parents.
When Jane signed the suffrage petition they were living in Argyle St, Mornington.
John died at their home in 1910 and Jane died on 9 August 1919 – they are buried together in the Southern Cemetery.
