Biographical information provided by Briary Barry for the He Tohu exhibition:

Mary Ann Keetley (née Hoskins or Hoslins) was married to Henry Keetley, a butcher from Kaiapoi. Henry died in 1879, aged 50 so Mary Ann was a widow when she signed the Petition. The couple had at least two children, Gertrude Sarah Keetley and Frank James Keetley. Mary Ann died in 1901, aged 68 and is buried in Kaiapoi.
