Constance May Denny was born in 1868 in Melbourne, Victoria – the daughter of John Stevenson Denny and Eliza Gray Park Cunningham. (See 62 Mrs Haskell)
In 1878 her father absconded from his job at a building society after embezzling a large sum of money.
The family came to New Zealand and settled in Dunedin.
Constance married Philip Martin, an accountant, on 11 September 1886 at her mother’s home in Opoho, they had no children.
When Constance signed the suffrage petition she was living in St Clair, Duneidn.
Philip died in 1920 and Constance died on 4 June 1946, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
