Mary Sheehan was born about 1863.
She married James McClusky, a cab proprietor, in 1880 in New Zealand – James was a widower with three children.
Mary and James had six children, one who died in infancy, and when Mary signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Park St, Kensington in Dunedin.
Mary died on 22 July 1894 at her home in Kensington – she is buried with some of her children in the Southern Cemetery.
James died at his daughter’s home in Dunedin in 1933 – he is buried with his first wife in the Green Island Cemetery.
