Bridget Hogan was born about 1846. She married Charles McDermott, a carter, on 30 April 1874 in St Joseph’s Church, Dunedin and they had five children.

When Bridget signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Main South Rd, Hillside, South Dunedin.

Charles died in 1912 and Bridget died on 25 September 1937, they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
