Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Elizabeth Laurence Sinclair was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of George Sinclair, a cooper, and Margaret.
She married Roderick McDonald, a carpenter, in 1891 and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in Opoho, Dunedin.
They do not appear to have had any children and, in later life, they moved to Palmerston in North Otago where Roderick died in 1934.
Elizabeth died on 23 January 1949 – they are buried together in the Palmerston Cemetery.
