Wilhelmina Antoinette Woodifield was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Paisley Woodifield, a printer, and Jane Elliott.

She married John Simpson McPeak, a cabinetmaker, on 31 May 1889 in Dunedin.

They had five children and when Wilhelmina signed the suffrage petition the  family were living in Opoho.

John died in 1931 and Wilhelmina died on 30 May 1939 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
