Christina Clark was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of Adam Sprott Clark, an engineer, and Janet Christie Peddie. 

She married engineer, Benjamin McPherson on 22 December 1887 in Dunedin. 

They had five children and when Christina signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cargill Road, South Dunedin. 

Christina died on 10 May 1909 and Benjamin died in 1929 – they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
