Mary Connor was born about 1845 in Ireland.
She married Michael Milligan, a sawyer, on July 15th 1869 in Glasgow, Scotland.
They had four children, one who died in infancy, before the family emigrated to Otago in 1876 on the Oamaru.
They settled in Dunedin and had a further five children, one who also died in infancy.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living in Princes Street working as a shopkeeper.
Michael died in 1901, and Mary died on December 3rd 1929. They are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
