Sarah Turvey was born about 1830 in Tipton, Staffordshire, England – the daughter of Joseph Turvey and Phoebe Fletcher.
Sarah married Joseph Morton, a stock taker in an iron works, in 1852. They had no children.
They came to New Zealand in the early 1870s and settled in Dunedin where Joseph worked as a bank messenger.
Joseph died in 1905 and Sarah died on 23 May 1907. They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
