Elizabeth Stewart Barr Simpson was born in 1872 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Simpson, a sexton, and Euphemia Wilson. (See 62 Mrs Simpson)
She married Neil McLeod Gunn, a clerk, in 1890 and they had three children.
Two of their children died and infancy and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Hanover St, Dunedin.
Elizabeth died at her home on 10 January 1899.
Neil re-married the following year but they divorced in 1933 – he died in 1942.
Elizabeth is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery with Neil.
